Size & Buying Guide

This beautiful Lake District painting by Ted Hepenstal perfectly captures the beauty of  the Buttermere Lake and the surrounding hills of Haystack with its tones of purple and blue. The painting gives you an impression the hills are embracing the viewer and are inviting you in.

Hampshire based artist Ted creates paintings that speak both to him and to others about the beauty that he sees in the world. As a keen hiker he visits the Lakes regularly, exploring the landscape and taking inspiration from the stunning scenery and nature that can be found throughout.

He is influenced greatly by artists such as Van Gogh, Kandinsky and Cezanne, and uses bold colours and brushstrokes to capture moods, emotions and to create a sense of connection to a location. He does this using a variety of mediums including acrylic, oil, gouache, oil pastel, ink, collage and pencil.

He has exhibited paintings at Winchester Cathedral and the Business Design Centre in Islington, as winner of the Abstract and Experimental category for the Society for all Artists.
